Um, Mel, you have a flat tire

So, yesterday was Wednesday, which is pool day. Megan, Carolyn and I have decided that Wednesdays for lunch we should spend by the pool, since I have a pool. Well, since the weather was bad, we went to lunch at Zupas. Since Carolyn wanted to hang out and chat longer, I gave Megan my car to get back to work and told her to just come over to my house after work. About five minutes later, I get this phone call that went something like this:
Megan: "Um, Mel, you have a flat tire."
Mel: "Megan, where are you?"
Megan: "I'm at work."
Mel: "OK, what happened"
Megan: "Well, I got to work and got out of the car, and I could hear the air escaping the tire. There is that construction area near my work, but I don't know what happened."
Mel: "I'll call Justin or Dad and see what I can do." As I think to myself, I don't have a car because you have mine.
It seems to me Megan, that you ran over something while you were returning to work as there was nothing wrong with the tires when you left lunch.
Well, to make long story short, Megan called AAA and got them to change the tire. Dad, on his birthday, came and got the car and took it to Discount Tire. And I am now the proud owner of 4 brand new Fortera tires. So a quick 5 minute jaunt for Megan to return to work cost me a mere $700. No, I did not need to new tires; however, the tire could not be repaired as there was the largest chunk of aluminum I have ever seen lodged in my tire (picture to be posted soon) and I got a discount by purchasing all 4 tires now, thank Pops.
At least I'm in good company with these tires as Justin and CJ both own the same ones....Mandy, you'd better get these on your Jeep if you want to be one of the "cool kids!"

I actually got Fortera tires a few months ago ... did you know they have Kevlar?? If I get in a gang shoot-out, I'm totally hiding behind my bullet-proof tires!

If I could go back in time I'd say: The car registered in your name seems to have gotten a foreign object lodged in the tire whilst I was driving it and now is flat.

I'll never attempt to make a crappy situation funny again.
