Fish out of water

Since I have decided on doing a triathlon (and am not running as much these days), I am taking up swimming. It is such a graceful looking sport and yet, is so difficult. I had my first "swim lesson" on Monday (Meggie's roommate Hannah is teach me to swim in exchange for meals after our lessons....pretty good deal!) She is an excellent teacher and I had a fabulous time with her. The funniest part of the night was watching me try to do a flip turn for the first time. I was not very graceful (or even capable) at first, but I started to get it down. By the end of the month, I plan to be able to swim 500 meters without having to stop.

As a side note to my swimming adventure, I have to give a plug for respecting the honor code at BYU. Well, I realized after I got home that I had left my swim cap and goggles (hey, I may not be good, but I LOOK GOOD!!) in the RB locker room. I did not manage to call until late on Tuesday afternoon. I just assumed that it was a lost cause, but what did I have to lose by calling. Well, my swim cap and goggles and been turned into the lost and found in the women's locker room in the RB and are now safely in my possession again! You gotta love those BYU students!
