So, last night was the annual "Dinner & Silent Auction" YM/YW fundraiser. Because I live it the ghetto and am the white trash of my ward, I volunteered to bring a dessert as part of the dessert auction. If I do say so myself, this looks quite fantastic (and yes, I did make this, it is not from a French bakery!)
As a side note, they bring in around $10,000 at this fundraising activity. No, that is not a typo, they really rake in that kind of cash! Here is a sampling of some of the items up for bid: a weekend at a condo in Pebble Beach (there were 2 of these), weekend at a cabin near Snow Basin, micro-dermabrasion, teeth whitening, porcelain crown (my Bishop is a dentist), numerous item autographed by Steve Young (his parents are in my ward), and my favorite: a football autographed by John Beck that a 9 year old boy stood by and guarded the entire evening to prevent others from bidding on it. (By the way, he did win that football as people felt guilty bidding on an item that a kid wanted that bad....good tactic, I'm going to employ it next year!)
So, if you're ever feeling a little white trash, just remember you will never measure up to my status in my current ward! (The people in my ward and the kindest, most generous people I have ever been around.....they are also the wealthiest....hello, Donny Osmond is in my ward!)

Yum yum! Do they tell you how much your item wins? I want to know how much your culinary skills are worth!
Unfortunately, they did not divulge the amount that the desserts won....it was a SILENT auction. However, I like to believe it went for at least $100!
I'd pay at least that much!
