here's the scoop

I was talking to my friend Kate about her family's blog, and they have little prompts every once in a while of things for everyone to post about. For example, everyone did a top ten list of 2007 with some people doing books and some people doing stupid things their kids did or whatever. I don't know. Now they're doing their perfect day. Essentially this is how it works. Anyone can pose a question, idea, request, or whatever and everyone should do their own post back. Cool?

I will start.

I would like to know everyone's most favorite injury they've had and how it happened.

Ok. Most of you have heard this story. But. When I was a Sophomore at BYU I took anatomy with the cadaver lab. You may also know that I am extremely sensitive to smells. They use this really sick smelling chemical to preserve the bodies and to this day it makes me queasy. On the first day of lab, the TA got up and told us that because of this smell we might want to eat before class. I hadn't eaten since, oh 9am and it was now 4pm. Cool. So, I stand there looking at all the things the TA is showing us thinking to myself, "man. could this smell worse?". After about 15 minutes of this I felt my knees getting weak so I leaned back against the table behind me. Next thing I know, I'm dreaming of blue skies and butterflies face down on the tile. When I come to, everyone (and I mean everyone) is up against the wall staring at me and I notice something on the ground in front of me. My first words were "is that my teeth?". And it was. The EMTs come and make sure I know what year it is and all that and then try to call someone responsible to come and get me. Mel doesn't answer. Mandy doesn't answer. I'm running out of responsible people I know. Finally we decide to call Travis. He answers. And he comes and gets me and takes me to the dentist. We were all surprised that he was the one to pull through in the end. I am now forever indebted to Travis because, as we all know, if he does one really nice thing for you he'll never let you forget it. What's that? You made Mel eggs once? Or slept on Mandy's couch that one time?

I really really wish I had a picture that Mandy took when my teeth were still chipped. I had chipped teeth for three days before they could do anything to fix it. How embarrassing.

Great idea on the prompts. I like. I will follow up with my favorite injury sometime soon.

Correction -- Travis slept on my floor one night and drove me up to the airport at the crack of dawn the next morning to see Gio off on his mission. And, yes, I feel forever indebted for it. Why is it that Trav has that power over his sisters?

Oh, and you better believe I'm going to go home and find that picture of you with your missing teeth so we can post it.
